The effect of CSN3, Pit-1 and LGB genes single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) on milk performance traits (milk yield, protein, fat and lactose content, count of somatic cells) was estimated in Czech Fleckvieh and Holstein cows. The cows came from one source and were selected into two groups according to their lactation. We tested around 100 animals at the first and 25 at the fifth or higher lactation of both breeds. Our attention was aimed particularly on combined genotypes of favourable alleles. We confirmed the positive tendention of the combined genotype CSN3/BB x Pit-1/AA for high milk production. We found out a significant association between milk yield and Pit-1 genotypes in Holstein cows. Among all tested individuals, CSN3 genotypes significantly influenced milk yield (AA more than BB), milk fat (BB more than AA) and protein content (BB more than AA). The genotypes AB and BB of the LGB gene in Holstein cows led to significantly higher milk yield than the AA genotype.
