Study and determination of suitable sowing time and its effects on yield components of corn in Miyandoab plain

Date of sowing is one of the most fundamental factors to reach the maximum possible yield in a region. Different factors affect the growth and reproduction period of corn including, temperature and day length. According to the climatic and ecological conditions of Miyandoab and the suburbs and its high potential in terms of the high yield of corn in this area and being economical for sowing and according to recently made difficulties for the predominant crops of the region such as sugar beet Rhizomania, and also the scheme of increasing corn production in our country, its undercultivation area has increased. The determination of suitable sowing date for high-yield hybrids is necessary for local farmers. The experiment was grown in an RCBD with a split-plot arrangement. The main plots contained corn hybrids and the sub-plots contained sowing dates. The sowing dates included 4 levels with a 10-day interval among them (the first sowing date was 10 of Farvardin.) Statistical calculations including simple and combined analysis of variance for the traits of yield, number of kernels per row, number of kernel rows in corncob, kernels depth, cob percentage, plant, physiological maturity, ASI, 1000-kernel weight, harvest index and GDD from planting to harvest were performed. The results of combined and simple analysis show that there is a significant difference (ل = 0.01) between year and yield for the trait of yield. The fourth sowing date, in the first year, had the most yield on the condition that, at the end of growth season it does not face early autumn rainfall.
