Different desirable agronomic trials are existing in various barley lines and varieties which influencing yield production, environmental adaptability, disease resistance and crops quality. A number of genes are responsible for each of mentioned agronomic characteristics appearance in plants. So making such genetic diversity and providing segregating populations with various trials provides the ability to select the best generations with desirable characteristics. Therefore selection among the segregating populations is the essential stage in cereals breeding process that help us to access the variety and lines possessing desirable agronomic trials and with nvironmental adaptability. In this study 158 segregated population as F3 received from ICARDA, 9 generations as F5 and 9 generations as F6 of national materials were evaluated by using modified bulk breeding selection method in Ghamloo dryland agricultural research station of Kurdistan in year 2005-2006. In F3 generations selection was made on 13 generations. The seeds of selected plants with desirable agronomic characters such as yield component, plant performance, earliness, disease resistance, drought & cold resistance, plant height and resistance to shuttering & lodging, among each generation were bulked using mentioned breeding selection method. The seeds of 4 selected genotypes among F5 generations were harvested separately using pedigree breeding selection method. A number of five pure lines were selected among F6 generations.
