Drought stress as the most important abiotic stress plays an important role in yield reduction of crop plant world wide . The study of physiological responses of different wheat varieties to water stress could be a useful tool to understanding of the mechanisms of drought resistance. This study was conducted in Iran , Yazd ( semi- aried region) , to compare end season drought tolerance of 6 wheat lines and cultivars that release from a national plan. Each lines and cultivars planted in 12 m-2 area . The experiment arranged as randomized complete block design with three replications . Results indicated that there was significant difference between lines and cultivars for grain yield, plant height and grain number per main spike. However thousand grain weight and main spike height was not significant difference.WS-16 and WS-7 produced the highest grain yield by 3030 and 2972 kg.ha-1 ,respectively .
