Dried shiitake production by wood-log cultivation is an important item of a hilly and mountainous areas. But, nowadays it is an urgent problem that the decrease of number of producers and successors by the price down and the fact that shiitake production needs harder labor. Introduction of artificial Hodaba is pushed forward as one of the countermeasures. However, producers tend to hesitate to introduce artificial Hodaba became it needs a construction expense and knowledge of usage. Then investigation was made to clarify the actual condition of management of dried shiitake cultivation with artificial Hodaba. As a result, it became clear that effective cultivation is possible with artificial Hodaba and further, management condition became better if the producer arrange artificial Hodabas in on place instead setting them in several places. And management was more stable in large scale production against the price change. Finally, management models were constructed in each management scale.
