This study was conducted to investigate the effect of ethylene on the postharvest life of 1-MCP treated squash. Treatments include ethylene at 10 μLㆍL-¹, 0.5 μLㆍL-¹ 1-MCP and subsequent treatment of 10 μLㆍL-¹, ethylene to 0.5 μLㆍL-¹ 1-MCP treated squash. Treatment lasted for 12 hours at conditions 20℃ and 60% RH. Treated squash was stored in 8 to 10℃ cold rooms for 21 days. The present study found out that 1-MCP reduced the production of CO₂ and softening of squash fruit for 3 weeks.
