In most of agriculture research it is commonly observed that experimental data not only depends on the treatments but also functionally related to other ordinal or numeric variables. In such cases the treatment effect can be more precisely measured and compared only by analyzing the covariances of the data. In this paper different direction of ANCOVA applications in agricultural research are pointed and emphasized to measure the character of the primary interest. It is also attempted to explain the covariance analysis in agricultural research through citing examples. The role of the functional relationship between the covariates and primary interest variable is highlighted for the removal of the unnecessary effects.
