Influence of soil pH on the movement and infection rate of juveniles of citrus nematode (Tylenchulus semipenetrans Cobb.)

All the soil pH levels showed significant differences in influencing penetration of juveniles and development of females in the roots. Out of five-selected pH levels, the maximum movement and infection rate of T. semipenetrans was observed at the pH level 8.0 to 8.7 followed by pH levels (7.1-8.0) and (7.70). While at the pH levels (5.0-5.7) and (5.8-6.4) reproduction of T semipenetrans was comparatively less as there were less number of juveniles and ultimately females in the roots.
