The conclusion of the research carried out is that the fractions connected with crystallic and amorphic iron oxides have the highest share in the total arsenic pool. Because of little mobility of these forms, iron oxides occurring in soils may constitute an effective barrier for this element availability for soil microorganisms and migration to the groundwater. Carried out investigation allowed better recognize of various arsenic forms content and their interrelationships in the soils of the city of Lublin. The results of the research confirm also that soils within the agglomeration borders are subjected to antropopressure of different degree of intensity and show high variety in terms of morphology and physicochemical properties
