Economic importance and yielding biology of the mixed crops

One of the most promising methods is an increasing of standing crop biodiversity, through sowing the cereals in form of mixtures. The research results, confirmed by practical expperience, show that the interspecific cereal mixtures in comparison to the cereals sown in pure stand are characterized by a number of advantages, such as: better yielding fidelity, slight response to variable environmental conditions, better lodging resistance, higher salubrity level, better feeding value. Owing to differentiated composition, the mixtures easier tolerate variable weather conditions and better take advantage of natura, habitat. These properties appear in particular under worse soil agrotechnical circunstances and at less fertilization. As a rule the level of mixture yieldingis close to the yields being obtained by the best mixture component in pure sowing, and sometimes may be even higher
