In a three-year (2002-04) long experiment, the influence of the method of plantation estabilishment on the growth and development of lovage (Amor variety) and the essential oil content in lovage roots in the first and second year of cultivation was studied. It was found that plants ultivated from seedlings formed greater root mass than in cultivation from direct seeding, but the most successful method is by seedlings produced in multi-cell propagation trays (root mass in the first and the second year of vegetation increased by 93 percent and 40 percent respectively in relation to plants from control object)
