The aim of the research was to explain the influence of different plant population density (20, 40, 60 and 80 plants per square m) on seed yield and yield components. The research object was German open pollinated variety Licosmos OO. The data analysis showed no significant differences in yield among investigated plant population densities within 40-80 plants per square m. Only with the lowest density of 20 plants per square m received yield was significantly lower. Among investigated yield components, the trait most susceptible to population density was the number of pods per plant, which was strongly correlated with the seed yield
