The effect of highway on the content of zinc in some herbs

The aim of work was estimation the pollution degree with zinc of the herbs harvested from perennial meadows located next to highway. It was tested common dandelion, greater plantain and garden sorrel. The content of zinc was measured by the ASA method. The mean results showed that zinc content in the investigated plants (in above-ground as well as in under-ground parts) has systematically decreased with the distance from the road. For common dandelion content of zinc has decreased to distance 50 m from the road, but for the other herbs only to 30 m
