The aim of the study was to determine the influence of fertilization on soil chemicophysical properties in terms of permanent absence of soil tillage. The research was conducted in 2000-02 on the base of long-term field experiment estabilished in 1957. The study includes set aside land and for comparison rye grown in seven-course crop rotation. Fertilizing treatments included annual application of farmyard manure (FYM), FYM+NPK, NPK+Ca, NPK and unfertilized control. Cylindrical soil cores for determination of soil bulk density, total porosity and capillary water capacity were obtained from 0-10, 10-20, 20-30 cm depth from each plot at each growing season. Set aside land was higher in organic C, total N and available K and Mg in the top layer compared to conventionally tilled rye in crop rotation
