Yielding of white head cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. capitata f. alba) depending on irrigation and nitrogen fertilization

In field experiment the effect of irrigation and fertigation, as well as different forms of nitrogen fertilizers: ammonium sulphate, ammonium nitrate, urea and UAN on quantity and quality of yield of white head cabbage cv. Galaxy F1 were evaluated. It was found that both fertigation and irrigation caused significantly increase of marketable yield of cabbage heads in comparison to non-irrigated control. The form of nitrogen used in the research did not affect the yielding of cabbage. Both of examined factors, particularly fertigation increased the content of total and reducing sugars while decrease the amount of nitrates and dry matter content in cabbage heads
