The effect of water deficiency on yield and chosen grain quality parameters of selected winter wheat cultivars: Begra, Juma and Kobra, growing under differentiated nitrogen fertilization were investigated. The experiment was conducted in greenhouse at the Institute in 2002-04 in Mitscherlich pots with differentiated (from the shooting phase) moisture level (40 or 60 percent of full water capacity). The following doses of N were applied: 1.2, 2.4 g per pot. 0.6 g doses were applied at the following phases: the vegetation beginning, the tillering, the shooting and the earring. The mineral nutrient components were given in appropriate amounts. It was shown that water deficiency in soil decreased the grain yield and affected favourably on grain quality parameters of examined varieties in comparison with the control ones
