The researches were conducted in experimental apple orchard on Haplic Luvisol developed from silt formation. Green sward and straw mulch were compared as soil management systems in tree rows. Morphological analysis of non-transparent soil blocks showed that investigated soil under green sward and straw mulch had in top horizons favourable aggregate structure or fine-pore structure. Aggregate water stability of 0.25-10 mm of diameter in investigated soil was very large. In the Ap horizon of soil under green sward content of water-stable aggregates of 1-5 and 5-10 mm diameter was significantly greater than in soil under straw mulch
