Multiple Population Breeding System (MPBS) means that the genetic conservation population is split into subpopulations with each having an effective population size of approximately 50 individials (Namkoog, 1984). In this paper suggestion for conservtaion and improvement f Serbian spruce genetic diversity applying MPBS has been explained. Serbian spruce (Picea omorica Panc./Purkyne) is an endemic species of the Balkan Peninsula and a Terciary relic. Its widespread populations from the Terciary are reduced to the refugia in the area of east Bosnia and west Serbia. The results of the research of Serbian spruce ecological properties raise the issue of the necessary including of Serbian spruce natural stands in the process of intensive management.
