Breeds and populations of Black and White cattle have very outstanding position in milk production. They represent about 65% of milked breeds and 45% of cows in high producing herds. Black and White cattle is bred in Serbia from the middle of 20th century. At that time had been imported a number of European Black and White cattle breeds, and after that (in seventeens years) the limited number of Holstein cattle. On formation of population of Black Pied cattle the biggest influence had Holstein breed. In this work are reviewed results of research workers about milk and fat yields and fat percentage of Black Pied cattle. The reviewed results clearly show the progress in milk production of Black Pied cows. So up to eighteens years average milk yields was below 4000 kg and in nineteens reach 6500 kg. Today, at PK Belgrade average lactation milk yield is over 7200 kg for 305 days of lactation with 3.55% of fat (n=7160 lactations). In the region of Vojvodina about 15000 Black and White cows are bred.
