Current situation in livestock production in Serbia and future development directions

In this paper, the development of livesock production over the period of last ten years is analyzed. Based on obtained data relating to this period the condition of livestock production in Serbia was evaluated as unfavourable. Number of heads of livestock and poultry during the period 1996-2005 was constantly decreasing, in other words the number of all types of domestic animals was decreasing. Measures and future directions for development of livestock production in Serbia are suggested.
