Festuca pseudovina (FP) is one of the most widespread grazing plants in Khakassia. FP is an edificator of tussock steppe. It is a typical xerophyte that withstands solonetz soils with pH 7,5-8. FP has an euro-asian area. In Khakassia FP grows from north to south up to Tashypskij area and its disjunctive growth reaches from east to west. The individual development in nature and in introduction conditions is explored. In both cases 4 periods and 8 age states are marked during ontogenesis. Bidzhinskaya cenopopulation is notable among surveyed natural populations for morphological and coenotic properties. It is established that FP has one morning peak of flowering dayly. The optimal conditions for this purpose are the temperature of air 16-18 deg C and relative air humidity 73%. During introduction exploring of FP it is revealed that this species is stabile in culture. The majority of physiological phases has a low rate of variability within the investigated years. FP is characterized by good nutritive value which does not depend on age. In the phase of tasseling the plant organisms of all strange populations of FP have the greatest quantity of crude and digestible protein. The maximal content of a crude protein (25,1 %) was fixed for Borodino cenopopulation. Two populatons originated from Borodino and Shirino are characterized by high efficiency and nutritive value among various strange populations of FP. The findings allow to use this species more reasonably in economical activity.
