Modern state and the prospects of pig feeding development in the Stavropol area

Early in 2007, there were 274,4 thousand pigs at the as enterprises of Stavropol area, but there were 227,8 thousand pigs at the private subsidiary plots. At the tribal farms brood-sow multibreeding contains 10,1 sucking-pigs; one brood-sow can breed 19,2 sucking-pig average-weight of 17,8 kg at a two-month age. The joint-stock company Artezianskoje of the region, the complex Russia of Novoaleksandrovsk area Develop the pig-breeding effectively. There is a selecting hybrid centre in the joint-stock company The Kirov State Farm. 229 thousand hybrid sucking-pigs were obtained in the area in 2006.
