The monograph presents the latest data of morphology, variability, biology, ecology, geological age and areals of 41 species of gymnosperms of the Russian Far East including hybrid conifers. Data of the geological age and dynamics of coniferous formations in the Pleistocene and XIX-XX centuries the results of introduction and re-introduction, conservation and recovery of rare and prospective gymnosperms, vanishing coniferous formations are given in the monograph. The economical significance of the wild coniferous trees and shrubs, their ornamental and medicinal properties are separately considered and, in the Appendix, the possibilities of applying the conifers in the phyto- and aromatherapy are described. The information about using the particular species of conifers in food making, the detailed recipes of making courses and compositions for cosmetic procedures is presented.
