In the paper it is pointed to the contemporary approach to quality and legal regulations in the field of conformity assessment of product. The study was realised on a JD 4755 tractor by measuring haulage characteristic according to OECD rules and measurement when used with eccentric haulage on stubble field. It is shown that the results of testing the haulage characteristic, which are reached through conformity assessment, are not authoritative indicator of the tractor quality on customers point of view in the actual conditions of tractor usage.
