Protection of fruit trees should be done in autumn. The aim of this measure is reduction of infective potential of possible infections. In that period is essential to do spraying of fruit trees with copper preparations and mechanical removing diseased organs or whole plants. It is necessary to inspect orchards and vineyards for pest appearance in the period between autumn leaves falling and spring bud opening. Period of winter spraying is done on the following criteria: number of pests found and their critical number for that period (pests that hibernate at and in trees in orchards, their stage of hibernation, critical numbers, registered insecticides for winter and early spring spraying).
