In 2003 and 2004, thirty-five winter wheat varieties were evaluated for their symptoms scoring after artificial inoculations with Stagonospora nodorum and Fusarium culmorum in the field conditions of VURV in Piestany. The reductions of the thousand grain weight and grain weight per spike were higher after infection with F. culmorum than after Stagonospora nodorum. The reductions of the thousand grain weight, grain weight per spike and DON content were different by the genotype and enviroment (year). According to the results it was possible to identify a tolerant varieties to Stagonospora nodorum, to F. culmorum and varieties with lower accumulation of DON in grain.
