The agricultural landscape structure and diversity are created by greatness and shape of grounds and cultivated fields as well as by sire, shape and space composition of nonforest tree species vegetation (NDV) elements. Trees and shrubs predominate there are applied as component of long lived vegetation element. The importance and functions of NDV are unambiguous and significant. The proportion of NDV elements in agricultural landscape of Slovakia range from 2-3% (lowland landscape) up to 5-6% (hill land landscape). From functional reasons there is desirable to increase their proportion by 3-5% in each landscape area. According to research results of real territory in lowland landscape of Slovakia, 28-30 tree species have been identified in line-type of vegetation structure, from among 9 tree species are alochtonous. The main problems of contemporary state and inevitable renovation of line-type of NDV in landscape are discussed in this contribution. The line-type NDV represents mainly windbreaks, lines at terraces, water stream bank side stands, road and highway bank side stands. The different criteria of tree species selection for function and space tapes of NDV in landscape are described.
