Less favoured areas occupy 1225 764 hectares, i.e. 50% of agricultural area. From this acreage it is about 486.7 thousands hectares, i.e. 39.7% of mountain areas, which are characterized not only by high elevation above sea - level and shorter growing season, but in many locations also high sloppiness and low soil fertility.
