Status and prediction of infection rate of tick fever diseases among dairy cattle in some provinces of Thailand

Total number of 888 calves aged 4 to 9 months (t) were randomly collected blood samples from 7 provinces of Thailand during April to December 1998. Infection rate (t) of tick fever diseases in each province were determined by analysis of the results of each sero-positive to Anaplasma marginale, Babesia bovis and Babesia bigemina by screening Indirect Fluorescent Antibody Test (IFAT). Each inoculation rate (h) in the hear in each provinces were calculated from the values of the infection rate (I) by this equation I=1 e sup(-ht). The status of tick fever diseases indicated that all of calves in 7 herds (provinces) were instable. It was suggested that the calves would be risk of the tick fever diseases when they became adults.
