Effect of Zingiber purpureum Rosc. powder in diets on new castle's antibody titer of native crossbred chickens

Native crossbred chickens were raised with diets containing Zingiber purpureum Rosc. Powder at 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 percent inclusion. All birds were vaccinated with Newcastle vaccine at the age of 1 and 6 weeks. Results indicated that inclusion of Zingiber purpureum Rosc. powder in diets showed no significant increase in antibody titer toward New Castle's disease. Mean maternal antibody titer was highest for the 1 day-old chicks i.e. ND HI log sub(2) titer+-SD were 3.51+-1.90. While the mean ND HI log sub(2) titer of 35 and 56 days old chicks was 2.46+-1.46 and 2.08+-1.46, respectively.
