Mineral fertilizing effect on the drought surmounting of the winter wheat
2008
Koteva, V., Institute of Agriculture, Karnobat (Bulgaria)
The present research aims at establishment of the influence of the mineral fertilizing on the drought overcoming by the common winter wheat. Summarizing of 45 years` stationary field trial results has been made. Analyses of databases from these years are presented: the settled nutritional regime, resulting from the continuous mineral fertilizing, rainfall in the wheat’s spring vegetation, and grain yield. It was found that in Karnobat region in 43% of the last 45 years the rainfalls in the spring was insufficient, which means that in those years the wheat cultivation was very risky. In years with highly expressed water deficit and in natural soil fertility of the Pellic vertisol the average wheat’s grain yield is 1220 kg/ha. The mineral fertilizing decreases the negative influence of the drought by ameliorating the plants` nutrition. The yield increase in low fertilizing levels is with 219 and in medium level - 321 kg.
