The variety Colorit is a new achievement in the cotton breeding for fiber quality and productivity. This variety is obtained from the crossing of the breeding line № 266 ґ “Balkan” - Bulgarian variety. The female line - № 266 originates from the interspecific cross of G. hirsutum L. x G. barbadnese L. The new variety Colorit by its productivity is equal to the modern Bulgarian varieties with high genetic potential for yield and by its fiber quality is equal to the variety Avangard-264 - standard for quality. It is distinguished by higher first fruit-branch that is of great importance for the mechanical picking. This variety confirmed its qualities in the state variety test and was recognized as original one by the IASAS in 2007.
