Economic evaluation of the cone training system applied in Jonagold cultivar grafted on M9 and MM106 rootstocks

The paper aims to make an economic evaluation of the new cone training system applied in the apple cultivar Jonagold grafted on M9 and MM106 rootstocks, at different planting distances - 125 and 89 trees per decare, respectively. For the evaluation of the two investment solutions, both static and dynamic indices were used - the method of the net present value, the method of income/expenditure, the method of the internal return rate, the term of discount buying off, which methods measured the efficiency more precisely. The economic evaluation showed that both variants were efficient. The economic analysis proved the higher efficiency of the cone training system applied in Jonagold cultivar on MM106 rootstock at a planting distance of 4,5 x 2,5 m (Variant I) compared to the cone training system applied in Jonagold cultivar on MM9 rootstock at a planting distance of 4 x 2 m (Variant II). Raising the cost of investment delayed buying off by at least one year. Sensitivity analysis outlined Variant II as more sustainable concerning the net present value, and, consequently, concerning the other economic indices in income/expenditure changes varying within +20% and -20%.
