A study of commodity eggs from layers of hybrid Bovans braun was carried out in the periods prior to and following induced molting. The laying capacity, cracked eggs and the mortality (in %) were examined. The indices of the whole egg and the egg content were analyzed in the first and second cycle of the productivity of the layers. It was found that the peak of laying capacity was 90% in the 26th week of the first cycle of productivity of the layers and it was 86% between the 80th and the 81st weeks in the second one. The cracked eggs were 0.66% in the first phase of productivity and 3 times more in the second one. The weight of the whole egg and this of the white and yolk were significantly influenced by the age of the hens in the two cycles of laying capacity but not by the molting. The weight of the shell egg was significantly influenced by the age of the hens in the two phases of laying capacity and by the molting as well. The thickness of the egg shell was within the bounds of 0.40 mm and was not significantly changed in the first productive cycle. It was significantly decreased to 0.21 mm in the second productive cycle. The pH of the egg content was changed significantly in the two laying cycles but the pH of the yolk was not affected significantly by the molting. The analyzed eggs were used for the 25th month in the second cycle of laying capacity due to the induced molting.
