During the last decade the raspberry areas decreased greatly due to the both the occuring socio-economic changes and the extreme climatic conditions. The year of the study, 2007, was characterized by lasting drought and high air temperatures after flowering and formation of raspberry fruits. That reflected extremely unfavourably on their reproductive behaviour. The measured fruit weight of the main raspberry cultivars Shopska Alena, Samodiva, Vilamet was considerably inferior to that recorded under favourable conditions: Shopska Alena - 2.33 g, Samodiva - 2.22 g, Vilamet - 2.27 g, Balgarski Rubin - 1.78 g. The obtained yields were low, 200-250 kg/da.
