Feeding value of Thalapadma leaves for cattle

To meet the acute shortage of green fodder and pasture during the floods, cattle and buffaloes could easily be maintained on feeding leaves of Thalapadma (Hibiscus mutabilis L), a flood resistant perenial tree found in the upper part of Assam. Leaves are palatable to goat for which its nutritive value has been reported (Saikia,2002). Hence, the present study was conducted to evaluate its feeding value for local cattle.
