An experiment was conducted on 12 lactating cross bred cows in a completely randomised layout to study the effect of feeding rations containing different forage: concentrate ratios (R-I 60:40, R-II 67:33, R-III 75:25) on digestibility of various nutrients. The digestibility coefficients of DM, CP and NFE (P0.01) and EE (P0.05) were decreased significantly with increase in the roughage: concentrate ratio and reverse trend noticed with CF digestibility co-efficient which increased significantly(P0.05) with increasing roughage: concentrate ratio in the diet. A significantly (P0.01) higher DCP and TDN (P0.05) content was observed among the ratios. The data of the present study indicted that rations containing 60:40 forage, concentrate ratios were superior when compared with rations having higher levels of R:C in terms of DMI, nutrient digestibility in lactating crossbred cows.
