Pre-and post-partum study on morphometric traits in rural graded Murrah buffaloes of tarai region.

A total of 56 graded Murrah buffaloes of first and second parity were studied for various morphometric traits (HAW, BL, GIR, PGIR, DHB, DPB, OD, HHB, HPB, TFT and BS) from 3 months pre-partum to 3 months post-partum at 15 days interval during April 2002 to December 2002. Effects of various non-genetic factors were observed significant, like of cluster on HAW, BL, GIR, PGIR, DHB, TFT and BS; of farm on HAW, DHB, DPB, OD, HHB, TFT and BS of lactation on GIR, PGIR, DPB, HHB and BS and of the order of measurement had significant on DPB, HPB, TFT and BS.
