This study was carried out to evaluate the pre-sidedress soil nitrate test for use in potato. Experiment was carried out with three treatments and three replications in different farms in Zanjan, West Azarbayjan, Hormozgan Chahar Mahal va Bakhtiari and Esfehan provinces. Treatments included N0=Blank (without nitrogen), NCl=pre-sidedress soil nitrate test 25 –30 day after planting and NR=use of nitrogen based on recommendations. Based on results, In Chahar Mahal va Bakhtiari province there was any significantly difference in five percent level between NR and NCl in yield. Amount of nitrate in tuber was significantly higher in NR relative to NCl and N0 . In Zanjan in sites which had upper nitrate than 20 mgkg-1 in soil, positive response wasn&rsquot seen to application of nitrogen fertilizer. But In sites which soil nitrate was lower than 20 mgkg-1 , yield response to NCl and NR was significant. In none of treatments there was seen accumulation of nitrate. In West Azarbayjan there was significantly difference between different treatments NR with NCl had same group and N0 was belong to lower group. In Esfehan, in first year there was any statistical difference between treatments on yield but in second year that experiment was carried out in one site, there was statistical difference between treatments. There was no difference between NR and NCl .In Hormozgan, in two year, yield in NR was statistically lower than N0 and NCl but no difference was seen between N0 and NCl . Yield in secand year was statistically further than first year and there was statistically difference between different regians on yield.
