Seroepidemiological Investigation Of Hydatidosis In Buffaloes By ELISA In West Azarbijan

In seroepidemiological investigation of Hydatidosis in the population of Buffalo in Uromieh, we assumed the percent of expected cases to 50% , with due to unavailable ratio to prevalence percent of disease. Total samples determined 384, by use of cocran formula .In concerning of problems related to blood–letting from buffalo,the statistical method for providing samples was considered simple classified randomized method. Samples were prepared after blood-letting and providing serum to Elisa.The antigen was extracted from liquid of fertile hydatid cysts in uromieh abattoir ,and interpretation of obtained results determined. Samples with OD below than 0.7 were seronegative and samples with OD equal or higher than 0.7 were seropositive. From 384 sample, 96 were positive. The results indicated that Elisa in 1/400 serum dilution showed 95% sensitivity and 98% specificity .
