Pests are one of the most dangerous factors in development and cultivation of poplar in the plantations and the nurseries.Harmful insects have caused decrease in quantity and quality of poplar woods productions and being damage to them. This survey in order to determination of susceptibility and resistance of poplar species and clones were carried out in research station of saatloo ,during 2003-2006. In this survey , ten clones of different Poplar species(25 number trees of each clones in each replications)were cultivated in complete random designe block with 3 replication.Sampling of active pests on the clones were carried out, once per 10 days in each samplings base on sampling dates(48 trees of each clones) were selected. Each clone , a number of pests that are on clones,in four branches at four geographical directions were counted.Data were analyzed by factorial designed(factor a=clones and factor B=date) and comparison of means were conducted by Duncan multiple rang test. Results are: The pests such as: Paranthrene tabaniformis on P.n 56/75 and P.e 561/41, Melasoma populi on P.n 56/75 and P.n 62/172 , Monosteira unicostata on P.e 561/41 and P.n 62/154,Cerura vinula on P.n 56/72 and P.n 63/135,Pemphigus boreslia only on P.n 62/154 clone ,were observed.High dencity of pests was belong to Lithocolletis pupulifoliella. The highest and lowest of dencity of this pest is recorded on P.n 63/135 and P.e 488 clone, respectively. This pest has two generations and the peak of flight of that in 2004 and 2005 were observed on first of July(first generation) and mid of Augeust (second generation)and in 2006 is recorded on the first of July and end of July. The fast emerging of this pest in 2006 is due to high temperature. This pest is change to dangrous with high degree important in plantations of west Azarbaijan province. Other collected pests have no economic importance in west Azarbaijan.
