2003

This study had seven tr&rdquoials. 1- Preliminary bread wheat yield trial (1) including 90 gene bank materials. 2- Preliminary bread'wheat yield trial (2) including 144 entries. 3,4,5- AI, A2 and A3 test, each trial had 24 lines. 6- B.I test including 20 lines. 7 - B2 test with 16 lines. The first trial had no experimental design and no replication. The second carried out using square lattice design (12x 12) in two replications. Others conducted using RCBD. Analysis of variance and DMRT used for comparing grain yields of lines. During growth season, plant height, earlyness, pest and diseases were recorded. From PBWYT (1) 23 lines that yielded more than 1400 kglha and had good traits for dryland cultivation were selected. Thiny-nine lines from PBWYT (2) chosen for evaluation in all dryland research stations. Also 13 lines for separate trial were selected. There was highly significant difference between lines and varieties in A I, A2, and A3 trials.ln Al test, Azar2 cultivar yielded more than all others. Line No.3 with 1367 kglha was the best line in A2 test. In A3 test, line No.4 with 1722 kglha and 7% priorit)' by check (Azar2) was the best. There were higWy significant difference between lines in both B I and B2 tests. Azar2 Va. Yielded more than all lines, with 1563 and 1580 kglha in Bland B2 test respectively. As a whole in trials materials were early or semi-early. Plant height of materials, especially those lines with good yield were favorable to harvesting by machine.
