Reflecting people's strong interest in food safety and credibility, many systems for browsing produce information were developed. Most of them were just browsing the information on the web pages. However, as a next step, the application of this information for more practical use on the marketing activities is expected. Developed POS Support System is aiming for both sales management and application of the produce information at the same time. It is a POS system which can be used in farmers' shops. The system is connected to the web-based public database of the agricultural produce information (SEICA) in Japan. In order to identify the commodity nationwide, the produce item number for the system was designed based on 8 digit SEICA number. It makes possible to manage and analyze each farmer's basis. In addition, SEICA item number is designed to be compatible with the exiting local item number in the store. The proposed item number and POS Support system could be a solution for the source marking on the agricultural produce field.
