In this paper we first measured consumer expenditure elasticity of both food consumption expenses and food consumption quantities in Chinese urban area in the cross-section. And we analyzed the trend of Chinese food consumption. Based on the above-mentioned measurement result, we analyzed quality difference among income classes. As the result, we clarified that since China joined WTO in 2002, people of high-ranking classes have been diversifying and heightening the food consumption in the context of rapid expansion of consumer expenditure difference among income classes, and also in the context of food quality difference and diversification of food supply. In addition, basing the above-mentioned changes of Chinese food consumption structure, we analyzed the movement of Japanese export of agricultural and marine products to China by estimating price elasticity and income elasticity of Chinese city people.
