An experiment was conducted to study the effect of different sizes of root cuttings on the plant growth and root yield of truth under the Agro-climatic conditions of Northern Areas. Plant height, number of leaves per plant, number of branches per plant, number of pods per plant, root length, number of roots per plant and root yield were influenced significantly by different sizes of root cuttings. The experiment consisted of four treatments i.e. cuttings length 3 cm, 5 cm, 7 em and 9 cm. The maximum root yield (5.780 t/ per ha) was obtained from 9 cm long root cuttings, whereas lowest root yield (2.292 t/ per ha) was produced by 3 cm long root cuttings respectively. It can be concluded that root-cuttings size (9 cm) was found to be the best root cutting size for the highest root yield of kuth.
