In the experiment conducted in the years 2003-2005 the effect of flat covers (perforated foil, polypropylene non-woven) and the method of clove planting (one clove per point, two and three cloves per point) on the quantity and quality of the yield of garlic grown for bunching harvest was estimated. On the average for two years of the study the highest yield was obtained when the plants were covered by perforated foil. Moreover, the plants were characterized by greater number of leaves, greater mass of green leaves and greater bulb diameter. Among the analysed clove planting methods - the best productive effects were obtained for planting three cloves per point
