Effects of the bulb planting date on the seed yield and quality of onion (Allium cepa L.) | Uticaj vremena sadnje izvodnica na prinos i kvalitet semena crnog (Allium cepa L.)

Four onion cultivars (Prizrenski pogacar, Kupusinski jabucar, Trebinjska kapula and Holandski zuti)originating from different agroclimatic regions were grown under south Banat (Pancevo region), Serbia, agrocllimatic conditions. Bulbs were planted on two planting dates (October 10 -autumn planting and March 10 - spring planting. No statistically significant difference was detected in the seed yield between autumn and spring planting bulbs. Seed quality was satisfactory with germination ranging from 87 to 90% depending on a planting time and the origin of a cultivars.
