Paper deals with kinematic and dynamic aspects of planetary gear trains in agricultural tractors transmissions. Paper describes the planetary steering gear of Challanger track tractor, which is frequently used because of reduced soil compaction and traction features. Research goal is developing a universal approach, which is applicable to any type of planetary gear train for purposes of design and selection or usage in agricultural tractors. Research is related to the angular velocity, power flow, torque and efficiency of planetary gear trains. This paper presents only a part of a research related to the analysis of angular velocity.
