The paper presents synthesis of results of testing mechanical and mechanic-pneumatic seed drills for seed maize. Own testing results as well as results of the other authors show that it is necessary to adapt the work regime of seed drills to field conditions. Comparing sowing mother and father line at same time with those where father and mother line was sown later, the second method shows an increase of manual and machine work as well as fuel consumption.
