This paper deals with the morphological characteristics of peach mixed fertile branches (cultivars: Redhaven, Suncrest and Vesna) of the lower and upper crown half, in the spindel bush breeding system. The cultivars Redhaven and Suncrest had longer productive branches in the lower crown half. Stronger pruning is recommended because of the higher number of flower buds per branch in the lower crown half. The yield potential is higher in the shoots that are developed on the biennial tree. There are diferences in the flower/vegetative buds ratio between the two crown halfs in the cultivars. The cultivars with higher flower/vegetative buds ratio have higher yield potential. The percentage share of nodes with the individual bud category varies between the crown halves within each variety.
